Tuohy Runs Early National Leader In 1,500 Meters With 4:12.58 By Doug Binder, DyeStat Editor Chuck Aragon file photo Katelyn Tuohy of North Carolina State nearly matched her PR on the way to winning the 1,500 meters at the Raleigh Relays in the first appearance on her home track this season, in 4:12.58. Anna Gibson of Washington was second in 4:13.31 and Nike pro Michaela Meyer was third in 4:13.48. Taylor Werner of PUMA Elite won the women's 5,000 meters with a meet and facility record time of 15:31.14. The former Arkansas star led 12 women under 16 minutes. Aaron Las Heras from Wake Forest broke Sam Chelanga's meet and facility records in the men's 10,000 meters with 28:13.82. Jahniya Bowers of Youngstown State won the women's 100 meters in 11.25w (+5.0). North Carolina A&T's Paula Salmon ran 12.92 to win the women's 100-meter hurdles. Her Aggies teammate Kenady Wilson won the high jump at 5-10. Oscar Smith from Ohio State won the men's 110-meter hurdles in 13.73. His teammate, Eric Harrison, won the 100 meters in 10.10w seconds (+2.3). Veronica Fraley, competing unattached, won the women's discus with 184-9 and broke the meet record. Kate Seary from Wales won the women's 3,000-meter steeplechase in 9:55.96. Matthew Wilkinson and Alec Basten of Minnesota went 1-2 in the men's steeplechase, clocking 8:39.70 and 8:40.90, respectively. Sam Rich from Catawba Ridge SC won the boys 3,200 meters in 9:06.41.
